tim green is back with another brace of high impact club tunes of the sort that have made him one of the most in demand producers of the day. whether serving up rolling techno treats for cocoon, essential mixes for the body language series on get physical or laying down compelling club sets in the dj booth, brit tim green is unstoppable right now. here he steps up to the get weird imprint with two more tantalising cuts that show just how broad and brilliant an artist he is. stirring opener �for a memory� is eleven minutes of wordless and intoxicating female vocals, slick rubbery drums and plunging bass. the overall effect is hypnotic, rolling and perfectly groovy, and it will no doubt have whole dancefloors locked under its spell. some little melodic explosions, sweeping filters and luscious pads all help add a real air of grace to proceedings that mark it out as another classic from green. �for a distant memory� is a subtle but noteworthy reworking of the same cut. in this one, the drums are less direct and more stripped back, there is a focus on the angelic, glowing pads and on spine tingling slices of synth that are reflective and emotive as they drop in and out. it is a perfectly trance inducing, heart warming cut that the likes of lee burridge at his all day i dream parties, or various djs playing on a sun kissed terrace around the globe, will all lap right up. these are two more essential tracks from the ever on point tim green.

the second of two zentrum spinoffs is with us! as with the first, it comes loaded with four remixes. octo octa, vito & druzzi, cooper saver and turbotito, and lemonade all handed in top-notch reimaginings of tracks off jacques renault s debut lp, which came out just under a year ago, and they all somehow manage to be unique unto themselves while also sublimely bleeding into one another. octo octas rendering of mi casa samba serves as a propulsive beginning thats as dark and druggy as it is sharp and focused. vito & druzzis take on faith runs in a similar vein, but in a more stripped-back, drawn-out, and patient sort of way, it is nearly ten minutes long, so this is perhaps not a surprise. the b s remixes are brighter, sunnier, though that s not to say they re not bold. cooper saver and turbotito s redo of words has a certain funky swing to it that, paired with spacey synths and balearic bells and whistles, makes it ideal daytime disco fodder. the lemonade boys close the ep with their vibey take on faith. pads for days, a plump bass, and a focus on the original s sax make you wonder if the song itself somehow got stoned from a couple extra giant bong rips. a fitting way to end both the 12inch and the summer.

editor s kutz is here, right on summertime wearing it s volume 8 swimsuit, while the label boss seems to be on vacation too, since this is the first record of the series with no -vinyladdicted- track included. a side begins with the silver rider and his blue-sky edit on an odyssey s hit, giving to it a more uptempo and danceable character, while the italian duo marsupials drops a heavenly disco-house track with a chunky beat and a beautifully loading string line, called just like heaven. both sun-drenched, with vibes melting down slowly onto the sand like the butter under the hot sun! flip-side could be the sunset side with stereo 12 da flow closing your afternoon session or, why not, kicking things off for a late night party! with a deep and soulful take on an ashford & simpson s classic track, this one can stick in your mind for long, while napoleon s luv passage has a hypnotic process with repetitive loops and fat kicks that put you in a sweet nu-disco trance. but, beware, there s a break waiting for you!

firstly, a huge thanks to everyone for supporting us so far - 2016 has seen the dext label continuing to go from strength to strength, with our callahan and mella dee ep s backed with remixes from hodge and endian which have been been super well received. now for the third ep of the year from our resident comedian bodyjack. bodyjack has been an integral part of dext since he remixed dubspeeka on our 2nd release and headlined our label takeover of privilege in ibiza last summer. we are very excited about his return to the label with this 3-tracker (and our first full solo artist ep!), and we think you re going to dig this... the title track cobra effect is one of those tracks you aren t going forget in a hurry. intense and brooding, we are hard-pushed to categorise this, but layers of sinister bass coupled with dark, driving snares and eerie synth work culminate masterfully, making this the perfect dext track. hydra effect lifts the vibe with a straight up peak-time house jam with a sting in the tail. a raw-but-infectious bassline winds along under bodyjack s signature killer drum programming, before blasting off with something you aren t going to expect. rounding the ep off is slowine effect: a proper dancehall workout (reminiscent of bodyjack s earlier work) and a real cross-genre party starter. the most upbeat of the 3 tracks, this again takes all the elements of what we love about the music from the past and cleverly works them into something special for the rave. and that s not all for bodyjack on dext this year - he will be back with a one-off ltd record called -hot shot-, backed with a very special remixer...but more on that soon!

work them records founder spencer parker presents the first in a trilogy of releases as brotherhood. the brotherhood moniker was originally coined as a way of differentiating parker s berghain appearances from his panorama bar appearances, hence why this series under the alias will be concentrated on techno. thudding kicks and eerie atmospherics pave the way in chapter one - a physical techno number that warps and changes throughout its almost 8 minute duration. chapter two then employs a twisted melody that works alongside a remorseless low-end throb until chapter three concludes the package with punchy percussion and echoing effect

lovers rock recordings celebrates its tenth release with another lush compilation featuring tracks by three core members of the lr family and newcomer gunnar haslam. opener �vacation� by ital sees the label boss crafting a supple dj weapon out of a lysergic sonic ecosystem. the rapidly-maturing dj wey returns to the fold under his dj python alias with �amazonia,� an ambient bomb that allows a deceptively simple hook to lilt across a thumping reggaeton rhythm. gunnar haslam makes his lr debut with �vector no campo,� blending modular acid and perfectly crunched electro drums. finally sleeper cell close out with the shimmering, haunting �v.� the first lr release of 2016, lr no.10 exemplifies the label�s ethos and sound while pointing to the future, with eps by ital & halal, yoshinori hayashi and others slated for later in the year.

alex suarez is part of a new breed of producers based out of brooklyn carving out their own unique sound experimenting in the world of raw primordial electronics. under the name cienfuegos, he has prior releases on brooklyn s primitive languages imprint as well as the france s unknown precept label-with his new -lost in god s country- ep we see him debut on the new york centered bank records. through the four tracks cienfuegos harkens back to the time of early industrial music, not far off from the early transmissions of spk or even hinting at sounds akin to e.g. oblique graph. suarez has a knack for developing textures and tension in his music sewing it all together with plodding rhythms and the occasional creeper vocal. heavyweight stuff coming most highly recommended.

chilean born and berlin based dinky has forged a solid and illustrious career over the past decade. �casa� announces her new album set for release on damian lazarus�s crosstown rebels this autumn, with remixes from axel boman and satori. a trained classical guitarist, singer and keyboard player that has held a dj residency at berlin�s infamous panorama bar since 2004, dinky�s sixth album, also titled �casa� will be the first since the birth of her two children.� dinky�s delicate vocal on �casa� is both up-tempo and spacious, with infusions of acid, leftfield and electronica in its veins. axel boman delivers a stunning, emotive and epic nine and a half minute dub version, overlaid with spoken word samples referring to lost experiences. the swedish born producer is much-lauded for his releases on dj koze�s pampa, permanent vacation and his own imprint, studio barnhus, formed with kornel kovacs and petter of border community. while the hedonistic take from satori takes �casa� up beyond the horizon. a future crosstown rebels artist, satori has released on 8bit, under your skin and bla bla records. �casa� sees a return to form for dinky and a welcome return to the crosstown imprint, after previously releasing a single and a mix album for the pioneering label.
